Road Trip

About three months ago my sweet Grandaddy was diagnosed with cancer. He is the most amazing Godly 87 year old man. He decided to do Chemo, and it was going well. But sadly, the cancer has now made him really sick. He was admitted to the hospital so, we really wanted to go see him. Since Kinley has been so young, and I was 9 months pregnant when they diagnosed him, we have not been able to visit. So, after my first week back to work we loaded up Kinley for her first road trip. We were worried the whole baby thing in the car for 5 hours would not go well, but it did. She slept the whole way... and still slept thought the night. It was a wonderful car trip not only because she was so easy, but also cause we got to drive with my favorite people... my husband and my parents. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.
We went straight to the hospital and got to see Grandaddy and my aunts, uncles and cousins. It has been forever since we have all been together like that. Grandaddy was sleeping a lot, the first day but when we came back on Sunday he was doing a lot better. He asked to hold Kinley... and then he sang to her. My greatest childhood memory of Grandad is him singing "You are my Sunshine " to me ( I am sure he did with all the other grandchildren too, but I just thought it was me.) As soon as he held Kinley in his arms, its like the song just turned on and he began to sing to her. It was the sweetest moment ever.
